Course Description:
Course Description: A peer worker is a person in recovery trained to provide non-clinical, strengths-based support to people experiencing similar challenges. Peer workers offer direct social and emotional support, help forge connections to clinical care and community resources, and share hope that recovery is possible. Appropriate and adequate supervision is a critical factor in the success of peer roles. This supervision course outlines concepts critical to the success of the peer worker and the peer role in the agency. This course is suitable for anyone designated with supervising peers.
Course Objectives:
- Describe the essential functions of supervisors
- Explain the state-specific requirements for supervision.
- Explain and apply the Four IC & RC Performance Domains to the role of a supervisor.
- Explore the application of recovery-oriented approaches to the supervision of peer workers.
- Learn two critical supervision skills, emotional intelligence and peer supervision.
- Identify additional supervisory skills to improve your competencies as a supervisor.

If your address changes between now and the date of mailing, please notify us to ensure you receive your manual. Additional charges may result if not notified.
- Handouts for all other courses are made available in the DETAILS section of your Protraxx account no less then one week prior to the start date of the course.
