Got Your Six: Peer Support for Veterans & Families
Superior, Quality Education for Top Performers!
Choices has an outstanding reputation!
Details
Why is this course needed: Peers frequently interact with veterans and their families, often without realizing it, as these individuals may not openly identify themselves. Veterans and their families carry unique values, traditions, and challenges, including service-related trauma, reintegration struggles, and navigating the VA system. Without an understanding of military culture, peer support workers may face difficulties in building trust and offering effective support. While civilians may never fully grasp the complexities of military life, cultural awareness is invaluable in ensuring veterans and their families feel heard, validated, and empowered on their recovery journey
Who is this course for: This peer support training is designed for anyone—veteran or civilian—who wants to provide compassionate, culturally responsive support to veterans and their families. Whether you’ve worn the uniform or simply carry a deep commitment to those who have, this course offers the tools, insights, and heart-centered approach needed to walk alongside those navigating military-connected life, reintegration & recovery.
Through interactive discussions, real-world scenarios, and trauma-informed practices, participants will explore how to build trust, hold space, and offer meaningful support rooted in lived experience, empathy, and respect.
