Peer Supervision Course for Peer Supervisors Online-virtual
Course Description:
Supervisors are essential to the success and sustainability of peer support roles. Peer workers—people in recovery trained to offer non-clinical, strengths-based support—bring lived experience, connection, and hope to those navigating similar challenges. But their impact depends heavily on quality supervision that honors the unique dynamics of peer work. This foundational course prepares supervisors to foster integrity, encourage accountability, and support the professional growth of peer workers within any agency setting.
Course Objectives:
● Differentiate between clinical and peer supervision.
● Explain the state-specific requirements for supervision.
● Explain and apply the Four IC & RC Performance Domains to the role of a supervisor.
● Explore the application of recovery-oriented approaches to the supervision of peer workers.
● Implement two critical supervision skills.
● Develop a peer supervision agreement.
Explore emotional intelligence and consider how to apply it in peer supervision.
