Will my state recognize an on-demand course? Renewal CEs generally have more flexibility in relation to State approval. Often times, state boards are more generous with which courses can be utilized for CEs towards renewal. Choices is a NAADAC Approved Provider. This status means our courses will likely be accepted for your renewal certification.

Does your state recognize on-demand courses? In most cases, for renewal, many states do allow and recognize on demand courses for renewal. However, it is always encouraged that you check with your state first!

HIV, AIDS & Infectious Disease 3 hour On-demand Course:

Course Description: This presentation will educate non-clinical workers on the risk of HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C with substance users. Harm reduction and protective factors will be discussed. Participants will learn about new methods of treatments, and how to converse with clients around knowing their status.

Objectives:

Learn 3 symptoms of HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis C, and Hepatitis B.
Learn 3 risk factors and 3 prevention strategies
Understand and articulate the importance of everyone knowing their baseline status.
Increase knowledge current treatments for HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis C.
Understand your role as a recovery coach or recovery support specialist.

NEXT STEPS: Your registration is not complete until you finish the next steps listed in BELOW. You must enroll in the Choices Event Management System (EMS) PROTRAXX. But payment is required here first. After you submit payment, follow the steps below.

     3. Navigate to the course catalog/schedule and locate the exact courses you have paid for and "enroll" in them.

All virtual training will be conducted via Zoom. Zoom instructions will be sent out via automatic email from Protraxx. Check your Spam account if you do not receive an email a few days before your event. Or, you will find it in the Protraxx account the day before the course.
COURSE MATERIAL: You will receive a manual for the Peer & Ethics training no less than 1 week before the training start date. Be sure to put your mailing address in the fields provided. If your address changes between now and the date of mailing, please notify us to ensure you receive your manual. Additional charges may result if not notified.
Handouts for all other courses are made available in the DETAILS section of your Protraxx account no less than one week prior to the start date of the course. A short tutorial on finding the course materials and Zoom link visit here.
In the event you need to reschedule after registering for a Choices course, a $20.00 rescheduling fee will be required.
*** Cancellations must be received within two weeks of the start date to be rescheduled or refunded. All refunds are subject to a processing fee. No exceptions.
