HIV AIDS 3 Hour/3Ces


Course Description: This presentation will educate non-clinical workers on the risk of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C with substance users. Harm reduction and protective factors will be discussed. Participants will learn about new methods of treatments, area resources, and how to converse with clients around knowing their status.


Objectives:

  • Learn about HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and Hepatitis B.
  • Learn risk factors and protective factors.
  • Understand and articulate the importance of everyone knowing their baseline status.
  • Increase knowledge of symptoms and treatments for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
  • Gain an understanding of harm reduction and practice engaging in a conversation around it.
  • Understand your role as a recovery coach or recovery support specialist.

         2. Create/register an account if you do not already have a CHOICES account in Protraxx.
         3. Navigate to the course catalog/schedule and locate the exact courses you have paid for and "enroll" in them.
    There are numerous other courses on this catalog page. To alleviate any future confusion, please be mindful of the dates you have paid for when you enroll in our event management system (EMS)
  • All virtual training will be conducted via Zoom. Zoom instructions will be sent out via automatic email from Protraxx. Check your Spam account if you do not receive an email a few days before your event. Or,  you will find it in the Protraxx account the day before the course.
  • COURSE MATERIAL: You will receive a manual for the Peer & Ethics training no less than 1 week before the training start date. Be sure to put your mailing address in the fields provided. If your address changes between now and the date of mailing, please notify us to ensure you receive your manual. Additional charges may result if not notified.
  • Handouts for all other courses are made available in the DETAILS section of your Protraxx account no less than one week prior to the start date of the course.
  • In the event you need to reschedule after registering for a Choices course, a $20.00 rescheduling fee will be required.
  • *** Cancellations must be received within two weeks of the start date to be rescheduled or refunded. All refunds are subject to a processing fee. No exceptions.
